A games console is only as good as the games available to play on it. Thankfully, it’s been rich pickings for Xbox users since the release of the Series X, which has sold over 21 million units worldwide. There’s plenty more coming through 2024 and beyond, too.
You might want to upgrade other tech in preparation, such as getting a 4K TV for spectacular graphics. You’ll also need fast broadband and a virtual private network (VPN) for the best online gaming experience. An Xbox VPN protects your device from cyberattacks without slowing you down. It also provides you with a more stable connection and stops the throttling of your bandwidth at peak times.
Once you’ve got your setup sorted, here are the top releases for your calendar.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
This is the latest title from Rocksteady, the developers behind the Batman: Arkham series. It’s a third-person action game that has you playing as the famous Suicide Squad. Your mission is to halt an alien invasion and kill the Justice League, who’ve mysteriously switched sides.
You’ll explore and protect a large open-world city along the way. Each Suicide Squad character has their own traits to suit different play styles, too!
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
Hellblade II arrives in May 2024 and is set to be one of the year’s biggest console exclusives for Xbox fans. It’s the sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, which earned rave reviews back in 2017.
In this follow-up, you’ll rejoin Senua on a dangerous journey through Viking Iceland. Expect a cinematic experience as the story comes to life with gorgeous visuals and sound.
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is the second of two Warhammer releases penned for 2024. You’ll battle enemy hordes as a Space Marine with tons of abilities and weaponry at your disposal.
These epic battles for mankind take place on far-flung planets. Can you win out and prove your loyalty to humanity?
Grand Theft Auto VI
Grand Theft Auto VI is the sequel to 2013’s Grand Theft Auto V – one of the best-selling titles of all time. It promises to be the biggest edition of the series and take full advantage of next-gen console power.
Millions of players will be desperate to return to the streets of Vice City. You’ll have to wait a little while yet to get your hands on it, though. A recent trailer targeted a release date of 2025.
The Best of the Rest
Other titles for your radar include Avowed, Star Wars Outlaws, and Replaced. Gamers have plenty to get stuck into in the coming months. Which of these releases are you looking forward to most?
